Searx is privacy respecting open-source hackable metaserch engine run by volunteers over the world which does not log every phrase you enter in it. May not hit personalised results as Google, but it doesn't generate a profile about you and your online life. Searx is not interested about what you search for, never shares anything with a third party, and it can't be used to compromise you. Searx is free software with no "give-and-take" tactic, the code is 100% open and you can help to make internet better. The more decentralized Internet is, the more freedom we get. If you do care about privacy, want to be a reasonable user, or otherwise rely on digital freedom, make searx your main search engine or set it up on your own vps. It provides basic privacy by mixing your search keywords on other platforms without storing search data. They don't show up in neither our logs, and in your url history. Do you think I'm foolish? Under each searx instance is a different individual and that person can set up the server to log queries you type in search bar or logs ip addressess that visits thier website, but the real fact is that outer search engines from which searched phrases are reaped don't sees your ip or query you made. They see ip address and query source from searx instance. Searx against to other search engines automatically remove trackers from the returned URL. Metasearch engine has search suggestions too if configured correctly, there are no advertisements. Searches can be filtered by the following categories:
